Induction systems range from approximately 5 kW to more than 1 000 kW to customers’ requirements.

In addition to the equipment designed and manufactured by LH-POWER, we are the agents for the world renowned Cheltenham Induction Heating Equipment from England. This includes the latest range of ISM high-frequency equipment. South African sub-assembly and adaptation to local needs benefit both the price and back-up service.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Melting of ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals.

Heating for: Forging-Bending, Debonding, Hardening-Heat treatment, Laboratory work, Brazing/Soldering, Sintering & Extrusion

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS AND RESEARCH
For potential customers LH run experiments in their works and conduct feasibility research into the proposed application.

OPERATING FEATURES OF LH INDUCTION SYSTEMS
LH equipment is known for its robust design and ease of maintenance, high efficiency and greater simplicity of adjustment and operation.

Standard features:
• Non-corroding closed circuit water cooling. Heat exchanger and pump integral with the inverter.
• Visible monitoring of water paths.
• Polarity-matched water circuits reduce electrolytic damage.
• Adjustable control circuits allow peak power limiting.
• Digital wide range timer.
• All semiconductor components are of standardised design and readily obtainable.
• Infinitely variable power control from 0 to 100%.
• Constant power factor throughout power range.
• Interlocked controls for safety, reliability.

Options:
All the equipment designed and manufactured by LH POWER, can incorporate special features for specific customer needs.

RECTIFIERS
Rectifiers from 100kVA are designed and manufactured to customers’ specification.
Typical applications include:

• Plasma arc furnaces
• Electrophoretic painting
• Electroplating

SERVICE AND BACK-UP SUPPORT
The LH technical back-up team consists of engineers, technicians and electricians. The same personnel who were involved in the manufacture can be available for service. They are available to visit customers who require advice on new applications and adapting existing equipment. Coil design and repair facilities include, a rolling machine, high pressure testing, electric testing, computer aided design and special refractory applications.

Large stocks of spare parts are maintained.

QUALITY
Equipment is built to standards set by major companies. Since 1980 equipment ranging from 30 kW to 800 kW ratings has been built in South Africa to European standards. This equipment is operating in many overseas countries.
