We are a leading UK supplier of electrical and electronic intrinsically safe and explosion proof hazardous area equipment offering you an unequalled combination of a wide product range backed up by extensive application support.
The company was founded in 1992 by the current owner and Managing Director. The business started selling intrinsically safe Single Loop PID Controllers, Batch Controllers and Chart Recorders. It was during the first two years of business that the opportunity was seen to create a company that could cater for all the everyday applications that an engineer would come across in their daily jobs in hazardous areas. So many new devices were coming onto the market due to new technologies making it possible to design and build the equipment to the CENELEC Ex standards. Many of our customers found that they had to deal with far too many suppliers and also did not know where to source some of the more obscure equipment. And so the idea was born!
Throughout the mid and late 1990's relationships and agreements were made with some of the worlds leading manufacturers of hazardous area Process Control, Communication, Test, Calibration, Installation and Maintenance equipment. All with the sole purpose of making selection, installation and use of this equipment as trouble free as possible for the customer.
In early 1999 the company name was changed from Angel Instruments to Extronics as this reflected better the company activities. Our objectives are quite simple in that we aim to offer the best service and most competitive solutions to your applications in potentially flammable atmospheres.
Our facilities are located in Congleton, which is about 25 miles south of Manchester, and combine offices, stores and workshops. We hold an ISO9002 Certificate and are quality assured by BASEEFA. We also hold a manufacturers license for "Intrinsically Safe" Equipment. Our commitment to quality and the latest international standards are demonstrated by this in that we were one of the first companies to be assessed and gain approval for our quality system to the Pan European ATEX directive which is mandatory by 2003 for all manufacturers of Ex equipment.
We have a comprehensive catalogue of equipment and a web site for your convenience, all backed up by engineers with experience of using the equipment. Whether you need something as simple as a switch or cable gland a mobile phone or calculator and even a PC certified for hazardous areas you are sure to find a solution to your problem when contacting Extronics.
We are both friendly and honest in our approach and realise that we cannot be "everything to everyone" so if you do not find what you are looking for then please ask us for advice. We leave you with one of our company motto's "If we do not sell it ourselves, we know a man who can".
