National Electric Coil is the world's leading independent fabricator of coils and bars for high voltage generators, exciters and large motors. These include conventionally cooled coils, both bars and diamond coils, inner water-cooled bars, gas-cooled bars, as well as unusual coil designs, such as a push through winding. NEC has specialized engineering expertise in machine redesigns, retrofits, failure analysis, trouble-shooting, and testing and provides aftermarket services for power generation, hydro and fossil, and large industrial electrical equipment. Coil manufacturing sites are in Columbus, Ohio (rotor coils) and Brownsville, Texas (stator coils). Depending on machine size, stator coils may be installed on-site. NEC also has a fully-equipped service facility in Columbus for rotors, stators, exciters and other moveable units.
