SCS is a new "species" of low carbon flat-rolled steel. Starting with economical hot rolled black, the SCS process clenas the steel, removing rust and mill scale. The resulting steel emerges "white glove" clean and RESISTANT TO RUSTING. That's right, under conditions of indoor storage in a noncondensing humidity atmosphere, SCS will not develop rust for prolonged periods, and it achievs this without the need for protective oil films or other coatings.
The cleanliness of SCS offers a number of advantages in manufacturing and fabrication processes, lowering the overall cost of production. SCS steel - in sheet or coil form - can be obtained from one of the SCS Producers - a family of steel service centers and toll processors who operate the patented SCS processing equipment.
