Precision Tilt Sensor beats the elements

Severe weather conditions and other adverse environments are no longer a deterrent when specifying high precision inclinometers thanks to the introduction of the Schaevitz LSW series by Sherborne Sensors Limited.

These fully waterproof units are constructed from stainless steel and feature a connector-cable system that can be replaced on-site if the cable becomes damaged. Fully self contained, these high-precision closed loop gravity referenced tilt sensors are IP68 rated to 15m of water immersion and can survive temperature extremes from -40 to +70ºC. The sensors are available in a variety of angular ranges from +/-3º to +/-90º with non-linearity down to 0.02% of full range.

Typical application areas for the completely weatherproof LSW units are borehole mapping, dam and rock shifts, other geophysical studies, offshore oil and gas exploration, weapon sighting systems and seismic and civil engineering analysis where high accuracy of tilt measurement and ruggedness are essential. The LSW Inclinometer excels in both areas: it can measure to resolutions down to less than 1 arc second and is able to survive mechanical shock of 1500g.
